The UK is a multicultural society that comprises of an amalgamation of people from diverse backgrounds. For students wishing to study in the country, there is a great scope of learning about new cultures and meeting people from all walks of life. Most UK universities and colleges have separate cells for international students, to help them adjust and share their grievances if any.
UK is among the most sought-after destinations for higher studies, especially for Indian students because of a similarity in the education system. Having outstanding teaching facilities and faculty, UK educational institutes offer a state-of-the-art education system that is highly acceptable by the global economies.
The recommended age for higher education in the UK is 18 years and above. Studying in the UK helps in learning and understanding the English language.
Overview and Eligibility
The UK Start Up Visa is a new visa category that will replace the Tier 1 Graduate Entrepreneur visa program. Because of the endorsement requirement this visa may be difficult to come under at the moment.
You’re eligible for this visa if:
You are not an European Economic Area EEA or Switzerland citizen.
You want to set up a business in the UK
*. To set up a business in Britain you must be endorsed by an authorised body that is either a UK higher education institution or a business organisation with a history of supporting UK entrepreneurs.
The Start-up Visa category is reserved for early-stage, high potential entrepreneurs starting a business in Britain for the first time.
The earliest that you can apply for a UK Start-up Visa is three months before you travel. It can take a minimum of three weeks to receive a decision on your visa application.
Unlike the UK Innovator Visa, you do not need to invest funds initially. However, you must not have previously set up a business in the UK.
The UK Start-up Visa will replace the Tier 1 Graduate Entrepreneur Program, which closes to new applicants on 6 July, 2019. New applications for the Tier 1 Graduate Entrepreneur Visa will be accepted up until 5 July, 2019.
The Sole Rep visa is a fairly unknown entity, largely overshadowed by the popularity of the Tier 1 Entrepreneur route. However, after the demise of the Entrepreneur option, a serious contender and a viable alternative has emerged in the shape of the sole rep visa.
In summary the sole rep visa allows a senior representative (employee) of an overseas business to enter the UK for the purposes of creating a UK branch. The individual must be able to make decisions on the company’s behalf and have the authority to establish and operate a registered branch.
If successful, the initial visa is for 3 years with the ability to extend for a further two years whilst in the UK. The representative can apply for settlement after 5 years. A major attraction of the sole rep visa is that Investment funds is not a prerequisite for entry as with the old Tier 1 Entrepreneur route. In other words, the overseas business is not required to demonstrate accessibility to a certain level of investment funds before they venture to the UK to establish their commercial presence.
Understandably the overseas business must show their business activity including assets and accounts. A detailed business plan should be submitted in support of the application.
In the current climate and with the recent introduction of the onerous start up and innovator route the sole rep visa appears to be a sensible and practical option for overseas businesses wanting to expand in the UK.

Basic Requirements

The new UK points system was introduced on 1 December 2020 and included a number of significant changes to the points based system. The Tier 2 visa allows skilled workers to enter the UK on a long term basis to fill a skilled job vacancy in a wide range of skilled occupations including in IT, accountancy, teaching, and healthcare. The occupation needs to be on the Tier 2 occupation list.
If the occupation is on the Tier 2 Shortage Occupation List, it is easier to gain enough points under the points system. Before they apply, Tier 2 visa applicants must have a job offer and a Tier 2 Certificate of Sponsorship from a UK employer with a valid Tier 2 sponsor license.
